This image was captured in the 1 minute gap between a horizontal rain squall and a horizontal blizzard, giving just long enough to put up the tripod, compose, shoot and run for cover. The final image is a blend of 8 bit and 16 bit linear conversions from the raw image file to retain detail in the sky and distant mountains.
